DIRECTV streaming app across devices

DIRECTV — Streaming Mobile App

A streaming video product spanning live TV, on-demand, and pay-per-view — designed once and carried across iOS, Android, and responsive web.

Overview

The DIRECTV mobile app is a streaming video product covering live-stream primetime TV, news, sports, movies, and thousands of titles on demand.

Approach — Wireframes

Wireframes mapped two core paths before any visual design: a VOD flow for subscribers and trial users moving from the homepage into a video, and a LIVE & PPV flow for network browsing and reminders — each annotated with the interface options available at every screen.

Screens — Android

The Android build carried the same account, notification, and show-browsing patterns onto Google's platform conventions, across tablet and phone.

Screens — Responsive Web

The same catalog and playback experience extended to desktop and responsive web, keeping the featured-content hero and horizontal browse rows consistent with the app.

Screens — High-Fidelity Mockups

Home, Movies, and Live each got a dedicated high-fidelity pass — a featured-title hero, genre filtering, and a channel guide with live and upcoming programming.

Outcome

One design system carried across iOS, Android, and responsive web — live TV, on-demand, and pay-per-view sharing the same navigation and browse patterns instead of three separate products.
